Qualifications verified before anyone can teach, DBS status shown openly, and every session on-platform. Here's how.
Contact our designated safeguarding lead at safeguarding@tutorly.com. For an urgent risk to a child, call 999 or the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000.
Six things that hold whether or not anyone is watching.
Every tutor's qualifications are verified by our team before they can be listed publicly. DBS checks are optional: a tutor's DBS status is displayed openly on their profile so families can see it and choose.
A session booked by an under-18 is never paid or confirmed until a linked parent or guardian approves it. Parents can see booked sessions and billing at any time.
Messages between tutors and students are kept on-platform and reviewable. Off-platform contact is not permitted and is a ban-level offence.
Sessions take place in our in-platform video room, where join and leave times are logged. Any session can be flagged for review, and the in-session chat is kept for 90 days.
Sessions cannot be moved to private platforms like WhatsApp, Discord or personal email. Doing so breaches our terms and removes the safeguards listed here.
Every complaint reaches our team rather than an automated queue, and an account can be suspended immediately while a concern is reviewed.
No concern is too small to raise. If a child is at immediate risk, call 999 first.
